But I liked what this guy said: The coach from Sweden was not trash talking but speaking the truth. We didn’t play well and Russia and the Czech Republic probably did give them more trouble than we did Friday. That can happen.Sweden looked very strong and I am happy for that.It is good for hockey.We won’t get better as a hockey nation unless the competition gets better. What I hate most about hockey today is that we are in such a rush to sell it to the States that we have turned it into Roller Derby where violence and cheap shots draw cheers from the crowd. For the sake of the dollar we have sold out the beauty of the fastest and most colorful game in the world.Go to any rink in this country and listen to the trash talk of parents toward refs and players. It is shameful and embarrassing at times.There is no doubt we are the deepest in talent in the world. That is not bragging,that is fact. What we really need to do is put some respect back in this game for players, refs, and opponents.

And this guy: You are absolutely right drhoule, Canada has it all. The other teams has to change in their hotel rooms and bussed in their gear to local college rinks while the host nation enjoys personalized locker rooms in NHL rinks with all the amenities, resources, support, fans and media. I don’t think most people recognize the incredible disadvantage these teams has to endure while trying to compete. Canada has better players overall, no doubt, it’s a hockey nation, but there is no need to play these silly games off the ice. It’s not about the lack of resources as you said. 

These two guys speak the truth, canada has a lot of support and everything’s going for them, the other teams, not so much.

Uh what? Who? Ask anyone and they’ll say swedes tend to be quiet and have low self esteem, not believing in themselves and that’s why we don’t perform our best when it’s most needed and when it’s a lot at stake. so you obviously don’t know what you’re talking about.

Nice to see Canada staying classy even when sub-par, talentless, euro-trash coaches have negative things to say about kids playing a game. A grown man taking shots at teenage boys playing a game, way to go Ronnberg set an example for your boys and make your country proud….dick

Funny thing is - Forget about The Swedes. Our interest is The Gold Medal Game - and I have a feeling that we will be at The Dance without them. We need to concentrate on the opponents that we do have - not the ones we dont      Um ok :S 

ya know what…..say what you want about canadian hockey,we are the best in the world,it’s in our blood aand most of the best players in thew world are coached and trained by Canadians,including sundin……..EH!!!!
Um what? He wasn’t saying anything bad about canadien hockey, just this years wjc team canada in that game, that’s all!

The lack of success? Just because we havent’ won a gold in years? You know we are a small country and we have won silver, silver, bronze the last 3 years, if that’s not a bright future for a country with less then 9.5 million people in it and not everyone plays hockey, i don’t know what is!

It were tons of these comments and it made me so mad, they think they’re the only ones who knows hockey and that no one can beat team ugh i hate cocky and arrogant people who can’t admit that other people are good too. Hockey is not all about canada, stop making it sound like it. It’s not just your game!

By the way why are you so mad because of what the swedish coach said he just plainly said that his team’s defence was tested more in earlier games against Russia and the Czech Republic than it was against the Canadians. What’s the big deal about that? It was taken out of a context and you only heard those two sentences, he did NOT say canada was a bad team or country for that matter, he just said that they didn’t do much offensively which is true, no need to be mad about that. And some people just need to be quiet, you’re just stupid, thinking you’re all that.

And the canadien coach said he don’t like trash talk but that he just had to response :O Wtf Nobody has trash-talked Canada as much as they have trash-talked others. Ugh i’m so annoyed with a lot of people right now, mostly canadiens and no i don’t hate the country or the players, i just get annoyed with some arrogant canadien fans!
